Engadget Unveils the 2014 Best of CES Award Winners

LAS VEGAS– As International CES® 2014 comes to a close, editors at leading technology news outlet Engadget present this year’s official “Best of CES” award winners. From best health and fitness devices to the most kid-friendly technology, Engadget’s editors scoured the show floor for products making their debut at CES, choosing 14 winners based on level of innovation, quality of design, overall efficiency and market demand. Rounding out the editors’ selections is The People’s Choice Award, honoring the product that won over the most hearts and minds in the Engadget community of technology fans.

Along with widespread coverage across Engadget’s networks, winners were awarded a custom-designed, 3D-printed trophy from 3D Systems on the Engadget stage during the final ceremonies, broadcasted live on Engadget.com, HuffPost Live and AOL.com.

  • Best Digital Health and Fitness Product: Jaybird, Reign
  • Best Emerging Technology: Oculus VR, Rift “Crystal Cove” prototype
  • Best Gaming Product: Valve, Steam Machines
  • Best Kid-friendly Product: Rest Devices, Mimo Baby Monitor
  • Best Maker-friendly Product: MakerBot, Replicator (2014)
  • Best Mobile Technology: Sony, Xperia Z1 Compact
  • Best PC: Razer, Project Christine
  • Best Off-Beat Product: Sen.se, Mother
  • Best Software: Sony, PlayStation Now
  • Best Startup: Airtame, Wireless HDMI Screencast Dongle
  • Best Video Product: Dish, Virtual Joey
