Flappy Bird’s creator removes his game from app stores

Flappy Bird’s creator, Vietnam-based video game developer, Dong Nguyen, who’s been strangely elusive when it comes to contact with the press since his game’s runaway success, has removed Flappy Bird from app stores. Yesterday, he tweeted he had plans to remove the game from app stores in 22 hours. Nguyen followed through on his threat. It seems Flappy Bird’s insane popularity – it’s at the top of both Google’s Play Store and Apple’s iOS app store and is reportedly raking in an average of $50,000 a day – is just too much for the game’s creator to handle.
