February 11, 2014 By LBSzone

MISSOULA, MONTANA, 11 February 2014 – GCS and Sharpe Engineering, two leading developers of Big Data applications, are teaming to build and deliver next-generation streaming analytics solutions based upon the IBM InfoSphere Streams platform. The GCS – Sharpe team will focus upon real-time analytical processing (RTAP) applications in key verticals including healthcare, energy, retail, cyber-security, and government.

“In the Big Data arena, GCS focuses on exploiting the location component of streaming data with geospatial analytics, and Sharpe Engineering is the leader in applying ultra-low-latency streaming analytics,” said GCS President Alex Philp, PhD. “By integrating our expertise, we will create enterprise systems that apply geospatial and temporal analytics to streaming data for the extraction of meaningful business intelligence.”

“Sharpe Engineering and GCS have proven track records in creating custom Big Data solutions on InfoSphere Streams,” said Jim Sharpe, President of Sharpe Engineering Inc. “We will combine our capabilities in geospatial processing and low-latency analytics to perform predictive analysis on high-volume, high-velocity data sets in ways not previously thought possible.”
