T-Mobile Honored as One of the World’s Most Ethical Companies

March 21, 2014 By LBSzone

Sixth Consecutive Year Recognized For Ethical Leadership Across 41 Industries and 5 Continents
BELLEVUE, Wash. – March 21, 2014 – T-Mobile US, Inc., (NYSE: TMUS) today announced that it has been recognized by the Ethisphere Institute, an independent center of research promoting best practices in corporate ethics and governance, as a 2014 World’s Most Ethical Company®.

As America’s Un-carrier, T-Mobile has shaken up the wireless industry over the last year, freeing customers from onerous contracts, packing in more services, and unleashing more ways to use our service. While we continue to upset the apple carts of the old phone companies and change the rules of the industry, we will never compromise on doing things with integrity and a commitment to operating our business in the highest ethical manner.

“We are incredibly honored to be recognized again as one of the World’s Most Ethical companies – we believe in doing the right things, the right way, for our customers, shareholders and vendor partners, always putting our customers first,” said Dave Miller, Executive Vice President and General Counsel,  T-Mobile. “Our employees make this possible – this is their award, recognizing their focus on integrity and ethics.”

This is the sixth consecutive year that T-Mobile has been honored with this award, which recognizes organizations that continue to raise the bar on ethical leadership and corporate behavior. T-Mobile is the only United States-based company in the telecommunications services industry honored this year, and has been the only U.S. honoree for each of the last six years.

“The entire community of World’s Most Ethical Companies believe that customers, employees, investors and regulators place a high premium on trust and that ethics and good governance are key in earning it,” said Ethisphere’s Chief Executive Officer, Timothy Erblich. “T-Mobile joins an exclusive community committed to driving performance through leading business practices. We congratulate everyone at T-Mobile for this extraordinary achievement.”

The World’s Most Ethical Company assessment is based upon the Ethisphere Institute’s Ethics Quotient(TM) framework. The Ethics Quotient framework has been developed over years of effort to provide a means to assess an organization’s performance in an objective, consistent and standardized way. The information collected provides a comprehensive sampling of definitive criteria of core competencies, rather than all aspects of corporate governance, risk, sustainability, compliance and ethics. The Ethics Quotient framework and methodology was determined, vetted and refined by the expert advice and insights gleaned from Ethisphere’s network of thought leaders and from the World’s Most Ethical Company Methodology Advisory Panel.

Scores are generated in five key categories: ethics and compliance program (25%), reputation, leadership and innovation (20%), governance (10%), corporate citizenship and responsibility (25%) and culture of ethics (20%).
