GPS parking system the way of the future?

A new car parking system using high tech GPS devices and solar power is dividing Palmerston North residents. Some love it but the new system has left others scratching their heads.There’s no barrier, no meters and no coins and the company behind this new car park technology says it’s the parking future. Car Parking Entrepreneur Don Sandbrook says it’s probably the world’s smartest car park. Technicians in Palmerston North have developed a system that detects how many spaces are free in a car park and with a smart phone application, guides the driver to the vacant space.
