Esri, SAP Team on Business Intelligence Data Mapping

July 17, 2014 By LBSzone

SAP is strengthening integration between its HANA platform, analytics Relevant Products/Services and mobile and business Relevant Products/Services applications, and Esri’s geospatial mapping technology, the two companies said in a statement on Wednesday. According to the announcement, which was made at the Esri User Conference being held this week in San Diego, the companies’ objective is to increase the ease of information sharing between SAP’s business applications and Esri’s geographic information systems.

The new cross-functionality between SAP HANA and Esri will help business users, GIS analysts and developers who need to run complex spatial queries on large amounts of data Relevant Products/Services in real-time Relevant Products/Services, both companies said. One such client, Alliander, a Dutch network Relevant Products/Services company, uses the two services to identify high-risk gas pipes that lie in close proximity to residential buildings in a few seconds, according to the company statement. The same analysis previously took 3-1/2 hours, said Pieter Den Hamer, big data business intelligence Relevant Products/Services strategy manager for Alliander.
