RALEIGH, N.C.-MobileSmith is thrilled to announce the launch of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s hospital wayfinding app, created and published by its customer Sarasota Memorial using the MobileSmith app development platform.

“For today’s patients, mobile wayfinding and easy access to hospital services are tremendously useful and potentially loyalty boosting features”

Sarasota Memorial designed the wayfinding app to help patients more easily find their way around its 1.5 million-square-foot main campus on southwest Florida’s Gulf Coast.

“A hospital can be a confusing, stressful place for patients and their families, so we want to do all that we can to make their experience a more pleasant one,” said Peter Taylor, Marketing Director for Sarasota Memorial Health Care System. “While there will always be a friendly face to greet and direct visitors to their appointments and hospital amenities, our new user-friendly app adds an extra layer of comfort and convenience from their smartphone.”

The Sarasota Memorial app, available for iOS and Android, is packed with great location-based features. Using this app, visitors can:

  • Receive location-based content and tips for navigating SMH’s main campus.
  • Easily find the ERs, Urgent Care Centers, and other locations within the SMH network.
  • Search a dynamic directory of physicians and services by specialty, location, or keyword.
  • Store physicians to Favorites; contact them from the app; get GPS directions.

Using the MobileSmith platform made the process of building, testing, and publishing Sarasota Memorial’s hospital app easy and cost-efficient, Taylor said.

The MobileSmith app development platform, used to create this app, empowers non-programmers at SMH to take control over their mobile strategy. MobileSmith offers quick, code-free native app prototyping, over-the-air testing and delivery, role-based CMS access for easy app management, and a number of cutting-edge features such as geofencing and proximity beacons.

“For today’s patients, mobile wayfinding and easy access to hospital services are tremendously useful and potentially loyalty boosting features,” said Robert Hancock, MobileSmith VP of Sales. “MobileSmith was delighted to help the Sarasota Memorial marketing team to deliver their cutting edge app quickly and affordably.”

MobileSmith (OTCBB:MOST) is a powerful online platform that allows non-programmers to easily prototype, deploy, and manage native applications for iOS and Android smartphones and iPad tablets without coding. MobileSmith customers can manage each app from a cloud CMS; securely integrate their apps with data sources, and take advantage of geofencing and beacon technologies. MobileSmith is integrated with Gimbal – the market leader in proximity messaging technology.
