LOS ANGELES, Nov. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — AEE Technology Inc., a global leader in the action camera and drone industry, today launched the AP11, the newest drone in its collection. Priced at $999.99, the AP11 with integrated first-person view (FPV) camera is the second generation of quad-rotor radio controlled (RC) helicopter from AEE and features 16 megapixels and 1080/60fps wireless HD FPV cameras, giving you the entire experience right out of the box.

The AP11 features a 3-axis gimbal and AEE S61 camera to capture smooth and fluid HD footage on every flight. Other AEE cameras and comparable action cameras can be attached to the gimbal of the AP11, and stabilizes shooting to within 0.1 degrees of pointing accuracy.

With a three cell (3S) 6800mAh battery and improved prop design, flying time lasts to up to 25 minutes and reaches heights of up to 2,296 feet. The AP11 will appeal to a variety of users, from RC aircraft hobbyists who want to record their flights to videographers and photographers looking to open up a whole new range of shooting possibilities.

The most significant upgrade on the AP11 is the state-of-the-art “Follow Me” feature.  It enables the drone to automatically follow the user without any use of the controller with the aid of a “Follow Me” tracker. While the “Follow Me” feature is on, the drone will independently follow the user 45 feet away and 45 feet angled. The drone will always face forward towards the user and record simultaneously.

Each drone unit is controlled via handheld controller with the option of utilizing the iOS App/Android AEE Flight App, camera control and live video feeds. Video and images are stored onto an up to 64GB Class 10 MicroSD memory card (not included with unit).

Features include:

  • 3-axis gimbal
  • 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi Downlink for Smartphones
  • Smartphone Mounts to Controller for FPV
  • GPS-Based Autopilot
  • Supports Dual Flight Control Modes
  • LCD Battery Bar Indicators & Low Voltage Protection
  • Self-Tightening Prop Design
  • 1,640 ft control distance/2296 ft communications distance
  • 1,640 ft video transmission distance
  • 140 degree wide angle

There has been a dramatic surge in the production of drones in the past few years, in both the commercial and government arena.  In recent years, drones have become a popular outdoor activity, with the FAA predicting sales to top $90 billion in the next decade, with over 400,000 units being sold each month in 2015.

“Drones are becoming an increasingly popular hobby and useful tool for photographers and businesses,” says AEE Technologies CEO Andy Zangh. “With its 3-axis gimbal stabilization, the AP11 is the perfect drone to capture the right photo or video that you want. The AP11 is a worthy addition to our family of drones for the discriminating user.”
