Telepathy Walker: The World’s First AR Eyewear for Smart and Fun Local Discovery Experiences

March 21, 2016 By LBSzone

Telepathy Japan Inc. launched Telepathy Walker -the world’s first augmented reality eyewear for innovative local discovery experiences, on Kickstarter at the steal prices as low as $299, on March 15th, 2016 for consumers in the US, Canada, and Japan; the post-Kickstarter price is $699.

With first-person-perspective user interface enabled by augmented reality, voice commands, and directional and positional sensing, Telepathy Walker is designed to enhance everyday life by assisting with personal navigation, identifying local highlights and places of interest, and sharing the experience with others in ways that differ significantly from smartphones.

The advantages of Telepathy Walker and its potential applications from location-based AR gaming and simultaneous translation for international travel, are portrayed in a Star-Wars-themed product explainer video.

Telepathy Walker’s navigation system was demonstrated at SxSW Trade Show 2016 and received critical acclaim from attendees and mass media, including Discovery Channel and HBO (interviews and demo footage are to be on the air soon). People’s reaction to Telepathy Walker’s navigation system at SxSW can be found in our YouTube videos.
