TomTom Wins 2016 CLEPA Innovation Award

March 30, 2016 By LBSzone

AMSTERDAM–TomTom announces that it has been awarded the prestigious CLEPA Innovation Award in the “Connectivity” category for its HD Map and RoadDNA products.

“With the help of TomTom’s HD Map and RoadDNA, car manufacturers can count on a robust solution to solve the localisation requirements of automated vehicles”

The Innovation Awards, delivered annually by the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, recognises the most innovative products and services launched in the European automotive industry. A jury of professionals selected winners in 5 categories, from 76 different entries coming from 45 companies.

TomTom HD Map and RoadDNA are two revolutionary, highly accurate digital map products helping automated vehicles precisely locate themselves on the road and plan manoeuvres, even when traveling at high speeds. Launched commercially in 2015, these new technologies are being rolled out in strategic geographies and are the subject of key partnerships with other automotive suppliers.

“Receiving the CLEPA Innovation Award is a fantastic recognition of the innovative automated driving products developed by TomTom,” says Pieter Gillegot-Vergauwen, Vice President & Product Management for Maps at TomTom. “With the help of TomTom’s HD Map and RoadDNA, car manufacturers can count on a robust solution to solve the localisation requirements of automated vehicles”.
