Ekahau Launches the A4+ RTLS Asset Tag and W4 RTLS Wristband Tag

November 19, 2013 By LBSzone

Ekahau’s Real-Time Location System (RFID-over-Wi-Fi™) supports two new active RFID products: the long-life A4+ asset tag and the W4 patient wristband tag enabling real-time visibility and reporting in Ekahau Vision™ software

RESTON, Va., Nov. 19, 2013  — Ekahau Inc., the high-performance leader in Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) announced today the introduction of two new active RFID tags at MEDICA 2013: the Ekahau A4+ long-life asset tag and the Ekahau W4 patient wristband tag enabling location tracking, reporting and mapping in Ekahau Vision™ software. MEDICA, the world’s largest medical trade fair, is based in Dusseldorf, Germany from November 20 th to November 23 rd, 2013.

Ekahau’s new A4+ asset tags are affixed to high-value equipment, enabling end users to quickly search for and locate equipment on web-based maps. Ekahau A4+ asset tags send text alerts to third-party devices, email and Ekahau badge tags if equipment leaves designated zones, reducing the likelihood of theft and accidental removal. The Ekahau A4+ tag also features a 5V USB charger and optional external battery pack port which extends tag life indefinitely, beyond conventional asset tags that rely solely on battery replacement. In addition, the Ekahau Vision™ business intelligence software reports equipment dwell times and par levels to help hospital administrators isolate workflow bottlenecks and improve decision-making.

Patients wearing Ekahau’s new W4 wristband tags are tracked in Ekahau Vision™ software which offers bed-level location accuracy. Ekahau’s W4 tags feature a watch-like design, tactile help button and detachable wristbands that simplify tag re-charging and cleaning.

To preview the new Ekahau W4 wristband tag and Ekahau A4+ asset tag, visit Ekahau at Booth#15D15 during MEDICA 2013.
