ClearAg Irrigation Advisor Helps Growers and Watershed Managers Plan for Short-Term and Long-Term Water Management
SANTA ANA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Iteris, Inc. (NYSE MKT: ITI), a leader in providing information solutions to the transportation and agriculture markets, announced new water resource management capabilities within the ClearAg™ suite of crop protection decision support software.
“ClearAg Irrigation Advisor allows growers to gather and analyze water management content from different sources and integrate them in a simple, easy-to-use format”
ClearAg Irrigation Advisor includes tools for monitoring field soil temperature and moisture for multiple layers, from the surface down to two meters of depth on a worldwide basis, as well as a comparison with historic values to help contextualize current conditions. This decision support system also provides irrigation tracking, pest and disease advisories, nutrient monitoring and crop growth stage advisories, all augmented by ClearAg’s industry-leading precision weather and soil software analytics. Growers now have specific guidance to help determine when, where and how much irrigation to supply to any given field—in real time.
Growers and farming operations worldwide can now benefit from Iteris’ advanced, water resource management diagnostics and advisory services directly via the ClearAg application, or as a data service through its ClearAg cloud-based application programming interfaces. The ClearAg Irrigation Advisor complements a suite of already-released advisory services for crop life-cycle management that support decisions in areas such as field accessibility, planting, harvest and crop canopy conditions—all specific to each field and each crop.
“ClearAg Irrigation Advisor allows growers to gather and analyze water management content from different sources and integrate them in a simple, easy-to-use format,” said Tom Blair, senior vice president of Iteris’ Performance Analytics Division. “Growers and farming operations now have access to precision, field-level weather and soil content for farms deploying smart irrigation systems that use atmospheric and soil information to manage operations. Rather than purchasing and deploying additional sensors, our 35 years of historical weather content, real-time NowCast™ weather conditions, and longer-term weather forecasts provide real-time access to information that affects each field, including ground saturation levels, solar radiation, precipitation and crop growth stages.”
ClearAg is a decision support application for precision farming built upon Iteris’ EMPower™ adaptive forecasting engine. As new information becomes available, the ClearAg system adapts to provide the most accurate, location-based information available on a worldwide basis. ClearAg leverages Iteris’ precision weather and global soil content with the power of agronomic models to solve complex agricultural challenges.
ClearAg’s patented technologies combine global, multi-sensor weather analyses, ensemble-based weather forecasting, customized soil modeling, and a staff of expert meteorologists to create what we believe to be the most accurate, science-based environmental information available. ClearAg applications provide effective, real-time information available in critical locations, to empower agribusiness professionals with optimized decision-making services throughout the growing season.
